Leaders and Legends
A new school year represents new beginnings. For sixth graders, there are so many "new" things it can seem overwhelming! New building, new classmates, new teachers, new classrooms, new lockers, new routines. It also means new friends, new connections, new learning, and new opportunities!
Middle school classes are organized into teams to help with this transition. That means that each team of students stays together for the duration of the year and has a set group of core classroom teachers. The team concept makes it easier to form connections with peers and adults in a smaller setting.
We have team names in the sixth grade - Legends and Leaders. We hope these names will challenge our students this year and resound within their hearts to increase their character as they strive for success!
Will I be a leader? Will I be a legend?
Will I dare to dream big? Inspire others? Learn more? Do more? Become more?
Will I leave a legacy and what will it be?
May our students be legendary leaders!

Here are some tips for helping at home: 1. Spend 15 minutes a day on ALEKS. 2. Your goal is to spend 75 minutes and learn 5 topics during that time each week 3. Anytime you are using math at home (cooking, making change, budgeting, time management, shopping, etc . . .) do the math out loud with your child helping along the way. Show them that MATH IS FUN!
